Other Environmental Programs, Projects and Technical Assistance

ADB has also embarked on other projects and technical assistance aimed at mitigating the effects of and adapting to climate change. It is assisting improve integrated water management, biodiversity conservation, and forest, wetland and coastal and marine resource management to help its DMCs respond to climate change.

ADB has also been supporting DMCs' efforts to improve urban air quality in Asia through its Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities (CAI-Asia)*. These efforts achieve the co-benefits of preventing and mitigating climate change.

Under its Water Financing Program, ADB also aims to alleviate the effects of water stress by delivering substantial investment, reform, and capacity development in three important areas: rural water, urban water, and basin water.

A snapshot of similar and other projects, technical assistance and programs are described in Environment Program (2003-2006).
