Working the Internet

The Internet is a giant network of computers. As it becomes increasingly popular, the importance to ADB of a successfully established and managed Internet presence requires less and less explanation. In 2007, OED amplified its efforts to use this technology to build collaboration and sharing of knowledge, especially with feedback for organizational learning. The evaluation pages at adb.org were redesigned with an accent on

  • website content,
  • navigational structure,
  • website and identity appearance,
  • website load time, and
  • cross-media accessibility.

The strategic principles that drive OED’s web objectives are to

  • keep abreast of developments on the evaluation landscape;
  • keep audiences and their knowledge needs firmly in mind;
  • integrate people, process, and technology issues;
  • align with OED’s corporate strategy and communication objectives;
  • ascribe accountabilities and responsibilities for managing the web lifecycle;
  • seek opportunities to innovate and collaborate;
  • deliver targeted and measurable results.
