The development of Asian bond markets is an essential element in ensuring that long-term, local currency funds are available for infrastructure investments in the region.

ADB is supporting the development of regional bond markets through

• technical assistance and policy advice addressing impediments to domestic bond market development in DMCs.

• the provision of partial credit and political risk guarantees for bonds issued in conjunction with ADB-financed projects and programs.
• technical assistance in the development of a guarantee mechanism to support domestic and regional bond market development in the ASEAN+3 countries.
