Economic Development and Poverty are linked in a complex manner to the spread of HIV and AIDS. As a regional development bank, ADB considers that it has an important role to play, in collaboration with governments, civil society, and technical agencies/UNAIDS to fight HIV and AIDS in Asia and the Pacific.

Midterm Evaluation of the Cooperation Fund for HIV/AIDS
1-2 October 2008, ADB Headquarters, Manila


ADB is undertaking a midterm evaluation of its Cooperation Fund for HIV/AIDS in Asia and Pacific. The process includes a regional consultation workshop where the preliminary findings from the evaluation team will be presented. Key regional stakeholders in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Asia and the Pacific are attending. See list of participants. The main objective is to review and define the role of ADB, in collaboration with its regional partners, in fighting HIV and AIDS, in the context of the new ADB Strategy 2020. Read more.

Fighting HIV and AIDS in Asia and the Pacific

The project aims to help Asia and Pacific Developing Countries halt and begin to reverse the spread of HIV and AIDS by 2015, working toward developing a more effective response to the AIDS epidemic at the country and regional levels.
