HIV and Infrastructure: Customizing Education and Behavior Change Activities for HIV Prevention in the Road Construction Setting
Improved transportation infrastructure and the emergence of transport and economic corridors in the Greater Mekong Subregion brings with it increased vulnerability to HIV infection. There is a need for innovative information, education and communication (IEC), as well as behavior change communication (BCC) tools and strategic approaches to reach the construction workforce and the surrounding communities, and although there are many HIV prevention IEC/BCC tools, only some are specifically tailored to road construction and transport corridor settings.
