Internship Program
Updated: 15 April 2009
We have selected interns for the June-December 2009 internships. Applications are no longer accepted.
The application period for the January-March 2010 internships will begin in October 2009.
ADB's Internship Program is a project-oriented learning program with assignments varying widely from year to year depending on ADB's business needs. Past internship assignments ranged from comparative study in promoting best practice in urban development in Asia, good urban governance and infrastructure delivery in Asian countries, and financing biofuel and waste to energy projects in the People's Republic of China.
The Program offers eligible students of member countries the opportunity to contribute to ADB project and share knowledge with its staff. Interns are based at ADB headquarters in Manila, Philippines or in one of our 26 other offices around the world. Upon completion, interns are expected to present a final report in an ADB-wide forum.
The Program's purpose is to offer the opportunity to
- work in a major international development organization with a multicultural environment
- gain a deeper understanding of development finance and the impact of ADB's work
- expand knowledge by learning from experienced professionals and apply it to educational and practical experience
- present research outputs in a forum at ADB
All applications MUST be submitted through the registered academic institutions. Learn more about the selection process.
ADB pays all interns a limited amount of stipend. Interns are responsible for other expenses including own living accommodations. ADB supports interns to obtain visa for the assigned locations if needed.
The Program is offered twice a year:
- January-March: application period is October-November of the previous year
- June-December: application period is January-February each year
