Special Programs
Special ProgramsThe JFPR Contribution for Afghanistan (March 2002). The Government of Japan and ADB agreed to set up a special window within the JFPR to support activities in Afghanistan under a three-year program of assistance for the country's reconstruction and transition toward political, economic and social stability. The JFPR Seed Money. The Government of Japan has approved the availability of seed grants for ADB project officers to support the preparation costs of the JFPR proposals. The preparation of the JFPR proposals, and hence the associated applications for seed money, frequently involve participatory discussions with civil society groups to design the JFPR proposals for maximum effectiveness and sustainability. Applications for Seed money grants will need to present a compelling case for assistance in covering the extra costs of such a consultative process. Applications for seed money of up to a maximum of US$20,000 may be submitted by project officers to help prepare forthcoming JFPR proposals. Eligible expenditures include: consulting services (including those from community consultation program experts), local consultant costs, and ADB’s staff travel and subsistence. Project officers that receive seed money are expected to deliver well-developed grant proposals within 12 months of the approval of the seed money. |
