Knowledge Management Framework

In 2004, ADB formulated a framework to guide its work on managing knowledge. Refined in 2008 and concretized into an action plan for 2009-2011, the framework is working toward enhanced learning, knowledge capture, and sharing within ADB plus greater dissemination and use of high-quality knowledge by both ADB and its partners.
Guiding principles
The knowledge management framework is based on the following guiding principles:
Fostering a knowledge-supportive environment
The framework promotes staff contribution to knowledge activities and encourages staff to be a knowledge worker.Ensuring results orientation and continued improvement
The framework works to sharpen the results of knowledge management initiatives.Enhancing operational relevance
Operational strategies will drive ADB's approaches to knowledge management and guide the business processes and planning of administrative and information technology support.
Expected outcomes
ADB's efforts to evolve into a learning institution and be a primary source of development knowledge in Asia and the Pacific are anchored on the following outcomes:
