In an effort to disseminate its work to the widest possible audience the Asian Development Bank set up Public Information Center (PIC) in Bishkek. Kyrgyz Development Information Center (KDIC) was opened in the premises of a public library – the Republican Library for Children and Youth on 2004.
This is joint public information center set up by ADB, World Bank, DFID and Swiss Development Centre.
The main purpose of the KDIC is to facilitate the dialogue and understanding of issues related to development in the Kyrgyz Republic.
KDIC is open to the public. No fee is required to use the center. Users can access information from the Internet and thousands of ADB publications and other development related materials. Also professional staff of KDIC provides consultation and assistance in information search.
Kyrgyz Development Information center's services include: online access to ADB project documents, reports, and publications; and access to a special collection of CDs and videotapes on development issues.
As of July 2008, the KDIC has a catalogued collection of over 2,000 publications, gives users access to 9 computers linked to the Internet, and has a reading room that allows 35 users. The partnering donors and the staff of the Library are committed to turning the KDIC to the development information “one-stop-shop” and making it the "place of choice" for workshops, seminars and debates on development issues.
KDIC hosts roundtables, meetings, workshops and presentation with wide participation of governmental press-services, youth, NGO and state officials.

Essay competition
On 1 October ADB, World Bank, SDC and DFID announced nation-wide essay competition among students on: "How I see my country by 2015".
Roundtable
On 17 October 2008 ADB in cooperation with other development partners conducted the roundtable for governmental press-services. The roundtable aimed to build effective relationships with donors’ community and government bodies on the level of external relations.
On the course of roundtable participants discussed the possible ways of cooperation and joint events.
There were 20 participants from various press-services and partner organizations as UASID, SDC, GTZ, UNDP, USAID, and World Bank.
