Portfolio Management
LRM is
- involved in portfolio management by assisting in the administration of non-delegated loan and TA projects, preparation of project completion reports (PCRs) and TA completion reports (TCRs), and conducting country portfolio review missions (CPRMs) for Lao PDR portfolio. LRM also conducts Quarterly Portfolio Meetings with Government. As from January 2003, LRM will administer some delegated loans and TAs in the education and transport sectors.

Country Programming
LRM in close coordination with the Operations Coordination Division of the Mekong Department, is responsible for all matters pertaining to country programming, including
- conducting the country program mission (CPM) and country program confirmation mission (CPCM)
- preparing the country strategy and program (CSP) and its annual update
- coordinating with the Government, Donors, Civil Society, Mekong Department, ADB Manila, and projects divisions
Project Processing
LRM:
- participates in the processing of designing all projects in Lao PDR
- provides significant inputs in the policy dialogue with the government
- interacts with the executing agencies to resolve project processing constraints
Aid Coordination
LRM:
- maintains and facilitates extensive coordination and consultation with donors on operational and policy matters
- shares responsibilities with other donors in arranging and sometimes chairing the Quarterly Local Donor meetings
- participates in the Lao UN Country Team Meetings
