Regional cooperation includes addressing problems associated with regional public goods which at the same time correspond to some of the MDGs. Examples of these are environmental issues such as shared watershed management or polution from forest fires, and health-related issues such as transmission of HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases. ADB has supported regional cooperation programs in various thematic and sector areas which directly and indirectly support the MDGs. These include programs in trade, education, governance and capacity building, environment, gender and development, water, health, and microfinance.
