Our Vision

To contribute to the enhancement of sustainable capacity for results management among developing countries in Asia and Pacific region

Our Mission

To promote learning and knowledge exchange among public managers, organizations, executing agencies and practitioners on how to manage better for development results, primarily through active participation by members of the Community in a virtual learning network.

Objectives

  • Increase regional dialogue and information sharing for the dissemination of good practices and expertise among practitioners on managing for development results (MfDR)
  • Facilitate demand-driven advice and problem-solving assistance from international experts on MfDR, particularly for practical hands-on issues
  • Introduce a range of self-directed learning opportunities, products, tools and support services
  • Create a knowledge base of good practices that will help Community members improve their own understanding and skills in MfDR in the Asia-Pacific region

What is a community of practice?

A community of practice (CoP) is an informal network--a group of people who share a common sense of purpose and desire to exchange knowledge and experiences in an area of shared interest. Through mutual learning and sharing of information, a CoP can develop and strengthen core competencies by

  • developing and spreading good practices
  • connecting "islands of knowledge" into self-organizing networks of professionals
  • fostering cross-functional collaboration
