Poverty in Afghanistan
ADB's MfDR Cooperation Fund has provided a grant to conduct a pilot participatory
poverty assessment in Afghanistan. The results of this project will help
guide the government of Afghanistan and the international community in
the finalization of the Afghanistan National Development Strategy –
the road map for the country’s continued reconstruction and development.

Supports Indonesia's Policy Reforms
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide a $200 million loan for
the third part of Indonesia’s Development Policy Support Program
(DPSP), a series of reforms that supports key priorities of the government’s
medium-term growth and poverty reduction program.
Japan and ADB Providing $300.8M for Philippines' Local Government
Units
Japan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are providing $300.8 million
to improve the revenue generation capacity of local government units in
the Philippines to help them deliver better basic services to their communities.
“The program...contributes to increased efficiency and effectiveness
in the delivery of basic public services by increasing resources and funding
options for local government units,” said Tariq Niazi, Public Sector
Management Specialist of ADB’s Southeast Asia Department.

ADB's Revised MfDR Action Plan has been converted into web pages for easier
reading, while the PDF version remains available for downloading and printing.
Progress reports on MfDR, submitted to ADB's Development Effectiveness
Committee, are also now available.
