Studying Aktau-Atyrau Road Improvement in Kazakhstan

MANILA, PHILIPPINES (21 May 2003) - ADB has approved a US$150,000 technical assistance (TA) grant to enable the Kazakhstan Government to review a proposal to improve the road from Aktau-Atyrau with external financing.

The TA will study the impact of the project with reference to ADB guidelines as well as its overall feasibility and engineering design.

It will also recommend revisions to the design, if necessary, to meet ADB criteria.

The project's executing agency is the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
