More than US$1.33 Billion in Assistance for Pakistan

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - ADB this week approved assistance totaling US$1.333 billion for Pakistan, including $300 million in grants and loans for reconstruction of areas worst hit by the October earthquake; up to $770 million for a new financing product and a $3 million loan to promote highway development; $60 million in loans to clean up the urban environment for 1.4 million people in Rawalpindi, Punjab; and a $200 million loan for the second phase of a resource management program in Punjab.
