India is one of Asia's most dynamic economies, and the thriving high-tech city of Hyderabad is one of the prime movers of this robust growth. Government leaders - including Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors - as well as civil society groups and journalists from around the world will gather in this vibrant city from Wednesday, 3 May, to Saturday, 6 May 2006, for the Thirty-Ninth Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Numerous seminars will be held in conjunction with the meeting which is designed to foster creative dialogue among the private sector, government delegates, non-governmental organizations and senior ADB staff. Some of

Country presentations will be held from Wednesday, 3 May, to Saturday, 6 May. Other events that will interest journalists include the ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers' meeting, Open Forum on ADB-NGO Cooperation and Governors' seminar. A press briefing and luncheon will be held on 3 May.
Opening Session will take place at the HICC on Friday, 5 May 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Business Sessions will also be held at the HICC on Friday, 5May and Saturday, 6 May. The last Business Session will end at about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, 6 May, followed by a press conference with ADB President.

Media Briefing and Luncheon A media briefing will be held on Wednesday, 3 May 2005 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hyderabad International Exhibition Centre (HITEX). ADB President Haruhiko Kuroda will be present. This will be followed by luncheon at noon. |
Video and Photo Coverage Video and photographic coverage of the Opening Session at the HICC, on Friday, 5 May, will be open to accredited TV crew and photographers. The ceremony starts at 10:00 a.m. Camera crew and photographers are advised to arrive by 9:00 a.m. to clear security. There will be an area designated for photographers and camera crew. Photographers will be allowed to go closer to the podium for the first few minutes of the speeches. Mult boxes will be available for live sound. Video and photographic coverage of the Business Sessions at HICC will also be permitted. Platforms will be installed for this purpose. |
Registration
Please note that your invitation includes a URL and a user-ID and password that will enable you to access a registration site to register. Registration is done online and deadline is 15 April 2006.

Shipment/Display of Publications
The financial and business media are welcome to display their publications during the Annual Meeting at the HICC and Hyderabad International Exhibition Centre (HITEX). Please be advised that only 150 copies of each publication can be displayed and distributed during the Annual Meeting.
Media wishing to send publications should contact the official cargo handler for the Annual Meeting, details of which will be advised.
All expenses for the shipment of publications to the Annual Meeting are for the account of media. Media are also responsible for customs clearance in
