Publishes Book on Asian MfDR Experiences
Since its creation in March 2006, the Community of Practice on MfDR has
supported the efforts of governments in developing countries to strengthen
their capacity for MfDR. Because of its work, the group has accumulated
considerable knowledge and experiences across a wide range of countries
and public sector environments, which are showcased in the group's 2009
publication, Moving from Concept to Action: Asian Experiences on MfDR.
Pakistan
Country Partnership Strategy: 2009-2013
ADB's country partnership strategy (CPS) will support Pakistan’s
efforts to produce sustained economic growth and poverty reduction. The
CPS is consistent with Pakistan’s development priorities. It is
also both focused and results-oriented. It covers sectors and themes aligned
with ADB’s long-term strategic framework (Strategy 2020), in particular
through its emphasis on selectivity and focus.
Helping
Build an Efficient Public Service in Timor-Leste
Building an efficient public service is among the many challenges faced
by one of the world's newest and least developed nations—Timor-Leste.
A partnership between the Government and the Asian Developemnt Bank ADB
has resulted in a series of training programs that have boosted the efficiency
of the public service.

Country Spotlight:
Kyrgyz Republic
A Joint Country Support Strategy (JCSS) 2007–2010 was prepared by
ADB, Swiss Cooperation, United Kingdom Department for International Development,
United Nations Agencies, and World Bank Group and is closely aligned with
the Government’s development goals. The country operations business
plan for 2009 –2011 is broadly in line with the JCSS priorities,
with some adjustments in the lending and non-lending program.
