Managing for Development Results at ADB

ADB’s Results Orientation

To better assist its developing member countries fulfill their development goals, ADB is strengthening its own capacity to manage for development results. In this regard ADB is

• Improving the quality of its results-based country partnership strategies
• Improving the focus on results of its projects
• Institutionalizing results reporting
• Increasing its staff's capacity in relation to MfDR

Underpinning these initiatives is ADB's new human resources (HR) strategy which ushered in a more results oriented performance management system. In addition, under ADB's performance-based allocation policy, Asian Development Fund resources are allocated based on country performance along with country needs.

Development Effectiveness Review
The Development Effectiveness Review, an annual report by ADB's management, assesses ADB's progress in implementing Strategy 2020. The review covers all operations financed by the Asian Development Fund and ordinary capital resources. It presents emerging trends and identifies actions for improving corporate performance.

The Development Effectiveness Review follows ADB’s results framework [ PDF: 189kb | 17 pages ] adopted under Strategy 2020 and endorsed by its shareholders.
