To better assist its developing member countries fulfill their development goals, ADB is strengthening its own capacity to manage for development results. Under ADB's performance-based allocation policy, Asian Development Fund resources are allocated based on country performance along with country needs.

Aspects of ADB's Results Orientation

Results-Based Country Partnership Strategies
ADB is mainstreaming results-based country partnership strategies, which are developed and implemented based on detailed discussions with the Government and other development partners.
Results Focused Project Management
ADB's Project Performance Management System emphasizes the systematic use of the design and monitoring framework, a results-based participatory tool for conceptualizing, designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating projects.
Results Monitoring and Reporting
ADB is enhancing its strategic planning process such that strategies and plans adopt clear objectives and a results monitoring framework, and take into account past results and feedback in their design.
Learning to Manage for Development Results
ADB's continues to strengthen its internal capacity to manage for development results by conducting learning programs, issuing MfDR guidelines and tools, and running an online resource center.
