Awareness and Learning Initiatives for DMCs

Awareness raising and knowledge dissemination are key steps towards developing MfDR capacity in ADB's developing member countries (DMCs). ADB co-sponsored the participation of DMC government officials in the Second International Roundtable on Development Results held in Marrakech in February 2004 and in the 2005 Second High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness at which the Paris Declaration* was endorsed. ADB also supported the participation of DMCs in the Third International Roundtable on MfDR held in Hanoi, Viet Nam, in February 2007.

ADB organized two regional workshops on MfDR in collaboration with partners. The workshops were designed to stimulate discussion and knowledge sharing among DMCs, and to consider the Marrakech Core Principles (developed at the Second International Roundtable) [ PDF: 155KB | 3 pages ] and the ADB Action Plan on MfDR.

ADB has developed a virtual Resource Center, which facilitates access to practical tools and references on MfDR approaches and related topics.
