Results Monitoring and Reporting

ADB recognizes the importance of monitoring and reporting on the results of its operations.

ADB is enhancing its strategic planning process such that strategies and plans adopt clear objectives and a results monitoring framework, and take into account past results and feedback in their design.

The annual Development Effectiveness Review is a milestone in monitoring and improving ADB's development effectiveness. It tracks ADB's progress in meeting the Strategy 2020 goals, demonstrates contributions ADB is making toward poverty reduction, and indicates actions Management will take to increase ADB's development impact. Strategy 2020, ADB's new long-term strategy, sets ADB's strategic course for its operations to the year 2020.

The Development Effectiveness Review follows ADB’s results framework [ PDF: 189kb | 17 pages ] adopted under Strategy 2020 and endorsed by its shareholders.

ADB is also examining different ways of doing impact evaluation to help better assess whether ADB's operations are achieving their ultimate objective of improving the lives of people in Asia and the Pacific.
