Pillar 3: Effective Partnerships

Pillar 3: Partnerships

ADB has strengthened its partnerships in MfDR with other multilateral development banks, the OECD-DAC, and bilateral aid institutions. It is not only important to align ADB's efforts with the approaches of its developing member countries, but also to harmonize with the individual and collective efforts of donors. ADB is actively collaborating with its partners in the promotion of MfDR approaches in the global, regional, country and institutional contexts.

Paris Declaration Evaluation Phase 2*

The evaluation of the implementation of the Paris Declaration is an integral part of the Declaration itself. The first phase, completed in late 2007, focused on the implementation of inputs and outputs, while the second phase, scheduled for comletion in 2011, will focus on the intended and unintended development outcomes and results that can be attributed to the aid effectiveness agenda of the Paris Declaration.

The Paris Declaration poses an important challenge both to the world of development cooperation in general and to the field of development evaluation in particular. Compared with previous joint statements on aid harmonization and alignment, it provides a practical, action-oriented roadmap with specific targets to be met by 2010 and definite review points in the years between.
