Asian Development Outlook 2009 Update: Myanmar

Myanmar's performance is expected to be hurt by downward pressure on prices for its exports of natural gas and agricultural products, and by a fall in remittances (though a lack of reliable data makes it difficult to assess this economy).

There has been no direct assistance to Myanmar in over 20 years. The ADB, however, continues to monitor economic developments in Myanmar and an operational strategy will be formulated when appropriate.
