ADB works with a broad range of civil society organizations. NGOs, community-based organizations, labor unions, research institutes, and foundations are among ADB's partners in fighting poverty and promoting prosperity in the Asia and Pacific region. ADB's experience shows that cooperation with civil society organizations (CSOs) improves the effectiveness, quality, and sustainability of ADB-assisted activities.
At ADB, the NGO and Civil Society Center (NGOC) supports interaction with CSOs at the project, country, and policy levels. ADB engages with CSOs through a variety of mechanisms. Learn more about the NGO and Civil Society Center and its work.
Although ADB generally does not fund NGOs directly, civil society organizations are involved in about three-quarters of all ADB loans. Find out how CSOs can work with ADB.
