AusAID works with NGOs to maximize the impact and reach of Australian aid, and funds NGOs and other CSOs* to deliver aid programs at the local community level in developing countries. European Commission (EC) Funding to Philippine NGOsFunding opprotunities are open to non-profit organizations in the Philippines, that include NGOs, people’s organizations, academic institutions, business associations, professional associations, and other civil society groups. Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants ProgramThe GEF Small Grants Program (SGP) supports activities of NGOs and community-based organizations in developing countries towards climate change abatement, conservation of biodiversity, protection of international waters, reduction of the impact of persistent organic pollutants and prevention of land degradation while generating sustainable livelihoods. Grant Assistance for Grassroots Project (GAGP)GAGP is administered by the Embassy of Japan in Manila to support small-scale projects directly benefiting grassroots communities that contribute to the socio-economic development of the Philippines. Small Grants ProgrammeThe Small Grants Programme* is managed by the United Nations Development Programme and supports small-scale activities initiated by community groups and NGOs in developing countries that address environmental concerns. Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA)SIDA* supports projects that are carried out by NGOs, Thirteen major Swedish NGOs have reached long-term agreements with SIDA. Of these, five are umbrella organizations which in turn channel grants to more than 200 other organizations. The World Bank GroupThe World Bank manages several types of funding mechanisms geared to providing grants directly to CSOs. These funds are administered by the Development Grant Facility which provides block grants to these funding mechanisms on an annual basis. The World Bank has published a comprehensive guide to fundraising* resources for NGOs. The guide includes a listing of World Bank-related opportunities for NGOs as well as resources available outside the institution.
