Country Specific Resources

ADB seeks to develop a more systematic engagement with civil society organizations by better understanding civil society activities in its developing member countries. ADB recognizes the need to be aware of the roles CSOs play in promoting development across the Asia and Pacific region, and the environment within which they operate.

The NGOC's country specific civil society reports cover a wide variety of civil society topics, including a historical overview of civil society in the given country, the legal framework for NGOs to operate, and descriptions and contact information of the larger organizations.

Through its work with civil society organizations, ADB has compiled an array of external links, arranged by country, of resources about civil society in its developing member countries. The resources include the websites of the NGO coordinating body of the country, databases of NGOs in the country, statistics, best practices, and reports by NGOs on a variety of development topics.

The following links are to listings of both internal and external websites on each country. The websites and information available about each country differs and is constantly being updated, but most contain contact details of the main NGO coordinating body in the country. Please contact us with new listings of civil society resources from these countries.
