ADB Planned Responses to Report of the World Commission on Dams (WCD)
ADB has completed a review to determine how guidelines proposed by the World Commission on Dams would be met by projects prepared and implemented in accordance with ADB policies. Send your comments on the proposed responses to ngocoordinator@adb.org.

Dams and Development: Philippines In-Country Workshop, 30 August 2001
This workshop brought together ADB staff, NGO representatives and Philippine officials from the central and provincial levels of government concerned with planning and implementing large water resource projects. The meeting aimed to encourage government agencies to a) improve their planning and processes for major water resource projects; and b) determine the degree of uniformity in the laws, rules and regulations under which they plan, design and implement water resource projects.

Workshop: Dams and Development, 19-20 February 2001
This workshop was the first step in collaboration with WCD to disseminate findings of the WCD Report, "Dams and Development". Amongst the conclusions from this workshop was a notion that in-country workshops would be a useful next step in developing national strategies for planning future projects.
