Poverty Reduction in Nepal

Poverty reduction is the main thrust of ADB's operations in Nepal. ADB has identified pro-poor sustainable economic growth, inclusive social development, and good governance as the three pillars of its Poverty Reduction Strategy adopted in 1999. All of ADB's other priorities-human development, gender and development, environment management, private sector development, and regional cooperation-should contribute to poverty reduction.
