ADF Promotes Equitable Development in the Asia-Pacific

In the past 7 years, the Asian Development Fund, through grants and low-interest loans, has built 38,000 schools, provided clean water to more than 200,000 households, built or improved 6,700 health facilities, and much more.

Nepal is a founding member of ADB and, as of 31 December 2007, cumulative lending to the country reached $2.3 billion, with investment grants amounting to $183.9 million and technical assistance of $127.6 million. The assistance is focused on agriculture, education, water supply and sanitation, transport and communications, finance, energy, and public and private sector governance.
