Chief Economist Ifzal Ali unveils the $1.35-a-day poverty threshold for Asia and Pacific, called the Asian Poverty Line, in his interview with BBC Sharanjit Leyl. The threshold assesses comparable rates of poverty using price data specific to the region. The study is the theme chapter of Key Indicators 2008 which was launched today.
