The Pacific Liaison and Coordination Office (PLCO) located in Sydney, Australia is ADB's focal point for programming, processing and administration of assistance in

PLCO is committed to building partnerships with the private sector both in Australia and across ADB's Pacific developing member countries.

PLCO allows ADB to be more responsive to the development needs of the Pacific and further strengthens its relations with governments, the private sector, and nongovernment organizations (NGOs) in the region.

PLCO's role, along with offices in Fiji Islands, Papua New Guinea, and Timor Leste is to:

  • organize and align ADB operations with the evolving needs of the Pacific Islands
  • strengthen ADB's delivery of high-quality services in the region

ADB's basic strategy is to respond to the needs of Pacific Islanders by increasing their income generating opportunities and providing them better access to basic social services.
