SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (3 August 2005) - Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Haruhiko Kuroda and Australian Treasurer Peter Costello today officially opened ADB's Pacific Liaison and Coordination Office in Sydney.

The office will facilitate country reporting and updating, aid coordination, external relations and information dissemination. The strategic location in Sydney will enable ADB to be more responsive to the needs of the Pacific and expand communication with key bilateral development partners including Australia and New Zealand, and multilateral institutions active in the region.
