ADB, through the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD), provides direct assistance to private sector projects with clear development impact but which may have limited access to capital.
When you seek assistance from ADB for a private sector project, you will not only benefit from financial assistance but also from the expertise and guidance of the PSOD team.
PSOD's operations are focused primarily on the following:
PSOD's responsibilities include:
- formulating and implementing Bank policies for direct assistance to the private sector
- processing funding support for private entities, including build-own-operate (BOO) and build-operate-transfer (BOT) projects
- providing advisory service to entrepreneurs and corporations wishing to undertake BOO, BOT, and other private sector investments
- mobilizing funds for private sector activities, including syndicating loans for private sector operations, political risk guarantees, partial credit guarantees and B loans
- investing in a range of sectors through investment funds for small and medium enterprises
- monitoring the portfolio and managing risk
