Siddiqui
Dr. Siddiqui
is currently working as a Senior Research Economist at the Pakistan Institute
of Development Economics (PIDE), Islamabad, Pakistan. She is also the Chairperson
of the PIDE-Ph.D. Program, started in September 2000, and a member of the Pakistan
Society of Development Economists. She completed her Doctorate in Economics at
Columbia University, USA. Major research interests include Economic Growth, Distribution,
and Poverty. She also has worked in Pakistan on the exchange rate determination,
the status of social sectors, the need for scientific research and development,
and gender issues. Dr. Siddiqui has taught courses in the recently started PIDE-Ph.D.
Program, as well as M. Phil, Graduate and Undergraduate classes at Quaid-i-Azam
University and at the Foreign Services Academy, the National University of Science,
and the Technology and Foreign Trade Institute.
