Objectives

The consultation will involve both internal and external stakeholders, and will be implemented to:

  • Seek feedback on the preliminary findings of the review
  • Solicit information on the priority actions that ADB should take to strengthen ADB's effectiveness in implementing private sector development operations

The key areas for consultation include the following:

  • What are the key objectives of the PSD Strategy
  • What are the key lessons and issues in developing member countries (DMCs) and ADB
  • How did the other international development agencies address the key issues
  • How should ADB address the changing context of PSD globally
  • How should ADB address regional and DMC lessons and issues
  • How should ADB address internal issues and lessons
  • What should be the key components of the way forward

Process

The consultation process will

  • Identify target groups to be consulted
  • Consult target groups via internet and in-country missions
  • Provide feedback regarding the responses received and how the consultation process influenced the findings and recommendations of the Review

Who can participate?

The consultation will involve:

  • ADB management and staff, including operations group Directors General and resident missions
  • Developing Member Countries, including representatives from the government and non-government organizations (business associations, chambers of commerce, commercial groups, academic societies, etc.)
  • Shareholders and Donors, including the ADB Board, major donors in their capitals and the country offices
  • Other stakeholders
