The first regional banking seminar for 2008 was held in Jakarta, Indonesia from 4 to 8 February. The Seminar was organized in coordination with Bank Indonesia. Thirty-four delegates from eleven economies attended. Resource speakers were from the US Federal Reserve. |

The first regional securities seminar for 2008 was held in Manila, Philippines from 31 March to 4 April. Forty-one officials attended. Experts from US Securities Commission, Securities Commission Malaysia, Monetary Authority of Singapore, and Asian Development Bank were invited as resource persons. |

A Regional Seminar on Risk-Focused Supervision and Risk Assessment was held in Hong Kong, China on 5-9 May. The seminar was organized and hosted by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. A total of 35 delegates from 11 economies participated.

Market Risk Analysis
A Regional Seminar on Market Risk Analysis was held in Bangkok, Thailand on 7-11 July. The Bank of Thailand organized and hosted the training seminar. Experts from the US Federal Reserve were invited to conduct and facilitate the training of 28 delegates from 9 economies.

Investigation and Enforcement
Bangkok hosted a second-in a row APEC FRTI regional seminar on 25-29 August. Thirty-eight delegates participated. Resource persons from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Australia Securities and Investments Commission joined an expert from US Securities and Exchange Commission as facilitators in the Regional Seminar on Investigation and Enforcement.

Regulation of New Products
Twenty-seven delegates from 10 economies were trained on Regulation of New Products conducted in Manila, Philippines on 15-19 September. Two resource speakers from Securities Commission Malaysia and one from Thailand Futures and Exchange Commission joined an expert from US Securities and Exchange Commission in facilitating the sessions.
