Financial Analysis and Forensic Accounting

Sixty-four securities regulators and bank supervisors from 13 economies participated in the Financial Analysis and Forensic Accounting seminar held last 19-23 October 2009 at the ADB Headquarters. Resource persons were from the US Securities and Exchange Commission, KPMG Forensic Australia and Singapore and the Securities and Futures Commission, Hong Kong. The seminar was co-hosted by Securities and Exchange Commission, Philippines.

Risk-Focused Supervision

The third regional banking seminar "Risk-Focused Supervision" was held in Bali, Indonesia on 20-24 July 2009. Forty-two bank supervisors from 12 economies participated. The seminar was hosted and co-organized by Bank Indonesia.

Seminar on Derivatives and Structured Products

Thirty-seven securities regulators from 11 economies attended the regional seminar on Derivatives and Structured Products in Bangkok, Thailand on 22-26 June 2009. The seminar was hosted and co-organized by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Thailand. Resource persons were from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Dubai Financial Services Authority, Monetary Authority of Singapore, and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

Understanding Global Financial Markets and Products

A Regional Training Program on Understanding Global Financial Markets and Products was held on 9 – 11 June 2009 at ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines. This was the first 3-day training for combined bank supervisors and securities regulators under the Training Initiative. Fifty delegates from 11 economies participated. Andrew R. Butler from The Information Source facilitated the program.

Inspection of Market Intermediaries

The first regional securities training seminar, “Inspection of Market Intermediaries”, was held in Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China on 31 March- 3 April 2009. The seminar was co-organized and hosted by China Securities Regulatory Commission. A total of 90 delegates from 15 economies participated.

Regional Seminar on Bank Rehabilitation

Fourty-four delegates from 13 economies participated in the Seminar on Bank Rehabiitation conducted in Manila, Philippines on 23-27 March 2009. Resource speakers from Toronto Leadership Centre, Alston Consulting, Bank of Ayudhya Public Company Limited, Korea Asset Management Corporation, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation and ADB facilitated the sessions.
