- Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC)
The CAREC Program was created in 1997 to encourage economic cooperation among countries in the Central Asian region. It is supported by six international financial institutions. The Program focuses infrastructure projects and improving the region's policy environment in the priority areas of transport, energy, trade policy, and trade facilitation.
- Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, and Climate Change (REACH)
ADB's Technical Assistance program on climate change includes capacity building activities on generic climate change issues and Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) with emphasis on renewable energy and energy efficiency, carbon sequestration, and adaptation.
- Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) - Sector Activities - Energy
With ADB assistance, Cambodia, the People's Republic of China, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam entered into a program of subregional economic cooperation, designed to enhance their economic relations. Energy is one of the GMS sector activities.

- Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER)
The CEER is a "not for profit association" which brings together the independent national energy regulators from the Member States of the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA). It acts as a focal point for contacts between national energy regulators and is their interface at a European level with the European Commission.
- European Regulators Group for Electricity and Gas (ERGEG)
ERGEG acts as advisory group of the European Commission. Its members are all regulators from the EU - Germany being represented by the Ministry of Economics until a Regulatory Authority for Energy is set up. Regulators from new Member States and the European Economic Area are observers to the Group.
- Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA)
ERRA is a voluntary organization of independent energy regulatory bodies of the Central/Eastern European and Newly Independent States region.
- National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC)
NARUC is a nonprofit organization founded in 1889. Its members include the public agencies engaged in the regulation of utilities and carriers in the fifty States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. NARUC's member agencies regulate the activities of telecommunications, energy, and water utilities.
- South Asia Forum for Infrastructure Regulation (SAFIR)
SAFIR is an initiative guided by a Steering committee of experienced regulators from the South Asia. It is designed to assist in building regulatory capacity in the electricity, natural gas, telecommunications, water, transport, and other sectors. SAFIR aims to provide high quality capacity building and training on infrastructure regulation, and related topics in South Asia. It aims also to stimulate research on the subject by building a network of regional and international institutions and individuals that are active in the field.

- International Energy Agency (IEA)
IEA acts as energy policy advisor for its 26 member countries around the world in their effort to ensure reliable, affordable, and clean energy for their citizens. Founded during the oil crisis of 1973-74, its initial role was to coordinate measures in times of oil supply emergencies. During recent decades, energy markets have changed, and so has IEA. It now focuses well beyond oil crisis management on broader energy issues, including climate change policies, market reform, energy technology collaboration and outreach to the rest of the world. The IEA provides excellent statistics on energy production and use for most countries of the world.
- Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP)
REEEP is an active global partnership that structures policy initiatives for clean energy markets and facilitates financing for sustainable energy projects.
- World Energy Council (WEC)
The World Energy Council (WEC) is a global multi-energy organization. WEC has member committees in over 90 countries, including most of the largest energy-producing and energy consuming countries. It covers all types of energy, including coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear, hydro, and renewables, and is UN-accredited, nongovernmental, noncommercial and non-aligned. WEC is a UK-registered charity headquartered in London.
