Earthquake and Tsunami Emergency Sector Project (ETESP) - Indonesia
Updated: 4 November 2009

Implementation of ETESP commenced in June 2005, six months after the tragic tsunami of December 2004. In the four years that it has been under implementation, ETESP has made good progress and project impacts are visible benefiting not only earthquake and tsunami victims but also victims of the decades-long conflict in the case of Aceh. Most of the physical works and other ETESP actvities were completed by end 2008 while ETESP is expected to be fully completed during the third quarter of 2009.

By the end of June 2009, contracts awards stood at $290 million, equivalent to 98% of the total grant amount, while over $258 million or 88% of the ETESP grant was utilized.
