Read the executive summary.

ADB, in cooperation with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and the World Bank (WB), is currently undertaking a joint study to establish an infrastructure strategy for the East Asia and Pacific region that will:

  • promote continuing dialogue on economic infrastructure provision among key decision makers in government, private sector and other stakeholders in the region

  • provide practical guidance for senior government policy makers on engaging in economic infrastructure provision and financing

  • explore strategies for ensuring efficient and sustainable infrastructure service provision in the region

  • inform future strategies and programs of ADB, JBIC and WB on infrastructure
It is the first time our three institutions - the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, the World Bank, and ADB - have come together with representatives of governments, academia, civil society and the private sector, to chart a detailed infrastructure strategy for this region.

Tadao Chino, former ADB President
