Conference on rural road networks

The conference will discuss the output of a TA project on the poverty impact of area-wide road networks, which helped develop the new PRC rural roads development plan for 2006-2010. EARD DG H. Satish Rao and PRC government officials will deliver the opening remarks.

Road safety campaign to curb No 1 killer*

Fewer road accidents, the No 1 killer in China, are expected during the festival season thanks to an ongoing national road safety campaign.

Thirty-one inspection teams from the Ministry of Public Security have been sent to all of China's provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions to improve road safety, ministry officials said at a press conference yesterday in Beijing. >> more
