National Guidelines in Urban Wastewater Tariffs and Management Study

This website presents draft national wastewater guidelines and management reform recommendations for the wastewater sector of the Peoples Republic of China. Developed through close collaboration between the Chinese Government and the Asian Development Bank, the recommendations are currently being reviewed for formal approval and adoption by the State Council of China.

Once implemented, the guidelines and management reform recommendations will facilitate dramatic improvements to the wastewater sector. They will improve cost recovery and efficiency, strengthen government institutions, progressively reduce reliance on government subsidies and ultimate promote
