Key Results

The CEP is an innovative approach to creating a sustainable development strategy in response to shared concerns in the GMS and to establish an implementation system bringing this strategy to the ground to achieve tangible results. These results will include:

• improved biodiversity conservation at selected five pilot sites
• reduced poverty among the countries, particularly at selected five pilot sites
• capacity developed in the GMS countries to mainstream environmental considerations into economic strategies
• strengthened GMS Working Group on Environment, enabled to impact on investment decisions by other GMS Working Groups
• established Environment Operations Center (EOC) to coordinate transboundary environmental issues and share resources and information on a long-term and sustainable foundation
• a medium to long-term plan outlining development options
