Developing Pro-Poor Governance Capability and Knowledge News and Events

Partnership with Local Institutions in the Philippines - The Project Team of a regional technical assistance (RETA) project of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) partnered with selected local government units (LGUs) and the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG) of the University of the Philippines (UP) to participate in a mentoring and coaching program on the application of citizen report card (CRC) methodology and continuous improvement and benchmarking (CIB) techniques to improve the delivery of services, particularly to the poor. Participating LGUs include Makati City Government, Naawan Municipal Government, and Quezon City Government. Representatives of these LGUs and UP-NCPAG will be trained by the experts from India and Australia who pioneered CRC and CIB, respectively. From November 2006 to June 2007, they will be working on specific service delivery improvement initiatives using CRC and CIB.
