Operational Plan for Sustainable Food Security in Asia and the PacificThe Strategy 2020 of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) recognizes sustainable food security as a crucial element of its long-term strategic framework. The Operational Plan for Sustainable Food Security in Asia and the Pacific identifies ADB's role and contributions in addressing the barriers to achieving the goal of food security by focusing on three areas of influence-productivity, connectivity, and resilience. The plan aims to increase the impacts of ADB's multisector operations on food security, particularly for the poor and disadvantaged, through greater synergy and value addition.
ADB Cooperation with Civil Society: Annual Report 2008This report details ADB's increasingly meaningful and collaborative engagement with civil society. The year saw more countries receiving loans that feature elements of civil society involvement and more technical assistance (TA) projects that include CSO participation.
ADB: Reflections and BeyondIn 2009, ADB interviewed senior and younger personnel, both past and present, on their struggles and triumphs in ADB, working for the development of Asia and the Pacific region, and ADB's evolution as an institution. Transport and Carbon Dioxide Emissions: Forecasts, Options Analysis, and EvaluationThis paper discusses the relevance of measuring greenhouse gas emissions from transport and presents a simple methodology for measuring emissions from the sector. It aims to guide transport authorities in Asia with a better understanding of the available tools and methodologies for measuring emissions and thus strengthen formulation and implementation of policies and measures that can reduce and prevent future emissions of air pollutants and greenhouse gas.

Development Effectiveness Country BriefsThe development effectiveness briefs present how ADB's operations help improve people's lives in developing member countries and the challenges ADB and the countries face in pursuing agreed development goals. The briefs complement the annual Development Effectiveness Review in reporting on ADB's performance using the ADB Results Framework indicators.
Strengthening Pacific Fragile States: The Marshall Islands ExampleThe publication tells the story of how a country strategy was formulated to help government and civil society respond to the development challenges of a Pacific island's fragile state. By consistently focusing on identifying and building on the ownership and effective demand for change through consultative and participatory processes, the strategy reveals how the operations of a fragile state can be strengthened.
