Improving Slum Life: Urban Poverty in Bangladesh
When the harvest is over, millions of Bangladesh's landless agricultural laborers face unemployment and hunger. The solution for many is to migrate to the cities in search of work. Massive urban migration leads to a proliferation of slums with the attendant problems of congestion, unsanitary conditions, and disease. This video looks at a slum improvement project in Dinajpur which improves social and physical infrastructure and provides skills training. |
