Small Scale Technical Assistance for Sri Lanka: Implementing the National Involuntary Resettlement Policy -- TA No. 4245-SRI

ADB President Tadao Chino approved a grant to assist the Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL) and it's implementing ministries to operationalize the procedures for smooth implementation of the National Involuntary Resettlement Policy (NIRP) and the Land Acquisition Act (LAA).

• Assist the Ministry of Lands (MOL) to prepare regulations for implementing the NIRP and the recommended amendments to the Land Acquisition Act
• Assist MOL and the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) to institute procedures to formally implement NIRP and LAA
• Assist MOL to conduct a nationwide training focusing on provinces, the private sector and external agencies
