Macroprudential Indicators

Technical Papers

In 2000/2001, ADB provided assistance to selected developing member countries to strengthen the institutional capacity of their central banks in compiling relevant financial and monetary statistics and macroprudential indicators. The objectives were to (a) identify new and changed demands for monetary and financial statistics as a result of the recent Asian crisis; (b) specify a set of key financial and monetary macroprudential indicators that can be used to monitor the asset and financial markets; (c) produce these additional statistics and indicators on a regular basis; and (d) disseminate these through print and electronic media.

The International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank, and the University of Asia and the Pacific contributed to this activity.
