Harmonizing and Improving Business Tendency Surveys in Selected Developing Member Countries

This project is a follow up to a first OECD/ADB Workshop on Business Tendency Surveys (BTS) held in November 1999. The objectives are to strengthen the capability of selected countries in harmonizing and improving their BTS and in analyzing and disseminating the results. The project covers Fiji, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam. It will help these countries improve the design, execution and comparability of their surveys; extend the coverage to finance and insurance, trade, tourism and business services; and improve the capability to correctly analyze and interpret the survey results for short-term monitoring and forecasting. The objectives will be met through workshops, consultancies and training implemented jointly with OECD.

Status of the project: approved; ongoing implementation
