Trust Fund for East Timor (TFET)Trust Fund for East Timor (TFET)From 2000 to now, ADB's main work in Timor-Leste has been administering infrastructure projects and a microfinance project, all financed though the multi-donor Trust Fund for East Timor (TFET). ADB administered six projects. The last TFET project is scheduled to be completed in October 2006-the Second Emergency Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project (EIRP II). Please refer to the table below.
ADB Administered TFET Grant Projects
Twelve donor countries, the European Commission, and the World Bank in 1999 pledged $147 million for a TFET to provide grant assistance for reconstruction activities and economic development in Timor-Leste. The World Bank is the TFET trustee, and ADB and the World Bank administer the projects. ADB took on responsibility for rehabilitation and development of transport, power, telecommunications, water and sanitation, as well as microfinance. TFET progress is reported in ADB's Tenth Progress Report on ADB TFET Projects and Other Operations, April 2006. Project Completion Reports (PCRs) are available for the Micro Finance Development Project and the Emergency Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project Phase 1. ADB PCRs provide lessons learned from completed projects and make project-related and general recommendations. |
