Fund Management

CFWS finances a coherent program of activities designed to promote effective water management policies and practices in the Asia and the Pacific region. CFWS activities are supported through Regional Technical Assistance (RETAs), the modality through which ADB can draw from the Fund. Five RETAs have been approved and implemented by ADB.

ADB's Water Committee coordinates, monitors and evaluates the use of the Fund. The committee is supported by ADB's water focal point in the Energy, Transport, and Water Division (RSID). The water focal point is composed of ADB staff and consultants working under the direction of the Water Committee Chairperson.

A steering committee composed of directors from ADB's regional departments, the Department of External Relations (DER) and the Regional and Sustainable Development Department (RSDD) provides overall guidance and supervision to the Program activities.

Activities under the Fund are supported through Regional Technical Assistance (RETAs), the modality through which ADB can draw from the Fund. Five RETAs entitled Promoting Effective Water Management Policies and Practices have already been approved and are being implemented: RETA 6031, RETA 6093, RETA 6123, RETA 6219, and RETA 6325.

The $19.10 million contribution was allocated into the 6 program categories.
